Optical coherence tomography angiography

The imaging technology known as optical coherence tomography, or OCT, is commonly used to diagnose and manage eye diseases that can cause blindness. This en face image, displayed in a frontal view, is from an OCT angiography scan of an eye with wet age-related macular degeneration, and focuses on the retina, light-sensitive tissue in the back of the eye. David Huang, M.D., Ph.D., co-inventor of the biomedical imaging technology known as optical coherence tomography, or OCT, continues to advance and refine OCT at Oregon Health & Science University’s Center for Ophthalmic Optics and Lasers, which is also known as the COOL Lab.
