The immune system takes lessons from the vaccine, applies those lessons to dealing with the infection, then acquires additional knowledge from the breakthrough infection. The combination gives our immune system a greater capacity to recognize the viruses that cause COVID-19, apart from what it learns from one or the other mode in isolation.”
