A Bloomberg article on the use of video conversations to prevent aging brains from declining cites an OHSU study that showed providing stimulating video chats four times a week to socially isolated adults improved some measures of cognitive performance and is much more cost-effective than medication alone. Hiroko Dodge, Ph.D., says, “With behavioral interventions like this, we may not be able to change the beta-amyloid levels, but somehow the efficacy in symptoms and daily function is really large."
