A newly formed Gun Violence Review Commission, led by the OHSU Gun Violence Prevention Research Center, will use a public health approach to examine cases of gun violence in Multnomah County, identify specific circumstances that lead to gunfire, and ultimately make recommendations to reduce firearm deaths and injuries in the community. The proposed OHSU-Legacy integration is mentioned.

“Legacy Health has informed OHSU of this transaction as part of the due diligence process,” said Alice Cuprill-Comas, OHSU’s general counsel. “Since the Aug. 16 announcement, leaders from both organizations have been meeting regularly and sharing information. Until a definitive agreement is reached, both organizations continue to operate independently.”
